Identity, loneliness, wonder.

ABOUT:

A. H Pidgeon is a writer of form-bending weird fiction, focusing on themes of identity, nostalgia, loneliness and wonder. Her debut novella under this pen name, The Seventh Season, is currently in progress. Find out more in PROJECTS.

This is a website where I share updates about writing and other works-in-progress. The first ‘book’ I wrote was in primary school, following a war between insects because I was obsessed with a documentary about ant colonies. I’d like to think I’ve gotten a lot better at writing since then, but I’m just as in love with telling stories as I was when I was a small, over-enthusiastic child. Nowadays, the kinds of things I like to write cover:

- Identity, nostalgia, loneliness and wonder, my official MO

- Queer and female perspectives

- Surreal, sometimes squicky horror

- Stories that bend form and genre

- Poetic prose and theme-focused writing

(This is by no means exhaustive, and I’ll probably add to it as time goes on!)

I draw a lot of inspiration from other creatives. If you like these people/stories, you might like what I write:

- Weatherfactory (Cultist Simulator, Book of Hours, the Lady Afterwards)

- Erin Morgenstern (The Night Circus, Starless Sea, Flax-Golden Tales)

- Jenny Hval (Paradise Rot, Girls Against God)

- Chandler Groover

- Roger Zelazny (specifically A Night in the Lonesome October)

- Eskew Productions

- The Old Gods of Appalachia (the podcast, not any specific gods)

(This list is even less exhaustive and even more subject to change than the first one!)

NOTE: I’m in the process of moving this website to another host as I can no longer add new pages here. As such, there will be no further blog posts or museum entries until the new page is finished. In the meantime, all news will be shared on my Instagram, @scraps_of_worlds.

Every post on this site will remain up. If you have subscribed to the mailing list, you’ll be updated when the move is complete.
